Oyón

A visit to the wineries in Oyón is to delve into the history of the town. Integrated into the landscape we find many of the most renowned wineries in the Designation of Origin. In the historical part of the town we find the parish church of Santa María, which houses a 16th century Plateresque choir. The Baroque tower is considered to be the most slender and well-drawn tower in the whole of the Rioja Alavesa, the figure of the weathervane that crowns it is known as “La Giralda”. We can also visit the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, the Virgen de las Viñas Hermitage, the Palace of the Counts of Bureta and the Marqués del Puerto Palace, the Municipal Ethnographic Museum…
