Visit and make a reservation at Bodegas Riojanas in the town of Cenicero. Founded by the Artacho and Carreras families in 1890 and located in the town of Cenicero. In its 35,000 m2 of space, the old wooden vats stand side by side with stainless steel tanks. The building is crowned by a modernist castle tower, with an assembly hall which hosts many cultural events. It has been a clear example of tradition, competitiveness and dependability over time, with its latest venture being the construction of a winery in Toro, Bodegas Torreduero.
Throughout its more than 100 year history, the winemaking systems have evolved. At Bodegas Riojanas innovation is not incompatible with respect for tradition. Being a classic winery does not mean making an old wine, and that is why the most advanced winemaking techniques have been incorporated to adapt to current market trends.
