Book and visit Bodegas Lan, in Fuenmayor, at the heart of Rioja Alta. It tells a story built on its name: LAN, an acronym for Logroño (now La Rioja), Álava and Navarra, the three provinces that form part of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. It signifies La Rioja in three letters. A sign of identity that is both wine and vineyard. A vineyard in a spectacular setting, sitting on a meander of the river Ebro, which represents its pioneering commitment to the land.
A land that holds a legend, that of the bridge of Mantible, a colossal work built by the Romans in the 2nd century and a place where Charlemagne passed through. From its remains, two arches are still preserved today, which have always been represented on the label of Viña Lanciano, our signature wine.
One of the best kept secrets of the winery is our spectacular barrel room, with a stacking, racking and air-conditioning system that is unlike any other in the world. Its distinctive pyramids of barrels hide some of its secrets.
